12.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 우리의 씨름은 혈과 육에 대한 것이 아니요 정사와 권세와 이 어두움의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들에게 대함이라
SUMMARY
Why is our struggle not and should not be against blood and flesh? This is because the opponent we wrestle with is not the same person we can see with our eyes, but the devil who manipulates and enslaves us behind our blood and flesh. 왜 우리의 씨름은 혈과 육에 대한 것이 아니며 또 아니어야 하는가? 이는 우리가 씨름하는 상대가 눈으로 볼 수 있는 우리와 동일한 사람이 아니라 혈과 육의 배후에서 인간을 조종하고 종노릇 시키고 있는 악마이기 때문이다.
The war of the saints is still underway, but it is a war that is joined to the Lord's complete victory already accomplished by the crucifixion and resurrection in the war against the devil. And even though it may seem like a defeat to the human eye, or a situation in which it may doubt God's love if he is not a saint, it reveals the reality of the 'unbroken love of God', which can be unknown if one is not in that environment. It is a situation set up by God Himself. No matter what happens to the saints in the process, even if they are ruined, poor, sick, and go bankrupt, it is an opportunity for them to reveal the victory of Jesus. 성도의 전쟁은 아직 진행 중이지만 그것은 이미 악마와의 전쟁에서 십자가에 죽으심과 부활로 성취하신 주님의 완료된 승리에 합류된 채 치뤄지는 전쟁이다. 또한 그것은 사람의 눈에는 비록 패배처럼 보일 수도 있고 하나님의 사랑을 의심할 수밖에 없는 상황처럼 보인다 할지라도 그것은 그 환경에 처해지지 않으면 알 수없는 ‘끊어지지 않는 하나님의 사랑’의 실체를 드러내기 위해 하나님께서 친히 조성하신 상황이다. 그 과정에서 성도에게 그 어떤 일이 벌어진다 하더라도 즉 성도가 망가지고, 가난하게 되고, 병들게 되고 파산한다 할지라도 성도는 그것마저 예수님의 승리를 드러내는 기회가 된다.
Romans 8: 35-37 says: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us" 로마서 8:35-37은 이렇게 말한다. “누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊으리요 환난이나 곤고나 핍박이나 기근이나 적신이나 위협이나 칼이랴 기록된 바 우리가 종일 주를 위하여 죽임을 당케 되며 도살할 양 같이 여김을 받았나이다 함과 같으니라 그러나 이 모든 일에 우리를 사랑하시는 이로 말미암아 우리가 넉넉히 이기느니라”
The Spirit reveals to the Lord's people the devil, de facto power, behind the blood and flesh they still carry, and the substance of the spiritual war, but those who are not under the Spirit never know that the devil is manipulating them behind their backs, while both providing them with what they want and taking away what they cherish. The devil knows very well what humans like and what they fear. God wants them to rely only on the blood of the lamb, but they seek to get from this God's lamb what they want : wealth, health, honor, wisdom and heaven and so on. Therefore, the devil is encouraging them to continue to serve the idol called 'God' while providing this human beings needs.성령께서는 주님의 백성에게 그들이 여전히 지니고 있는 혈과 육의 배후를 드러내시고 영적 전쟁의 실체를 드러내시지만 성령이 임하지 않은 자들은 악마가 자신들의 배후에서 그들이 원하는 것을 제공하기도 하고 그들이 소중히 여기는 것을 뺏기도 하면서 자신들을 조종하고 있다는 것을 추호도 알지 못한다. 악마는 인간들이 무엇을 좋아하며 반면에 무엇을 두려워하는지 너무나도 잘 알고 있다. 하나님은 어린양의 피만 의지하게 하시는데 이들은 어린양에게서 자신들이 원하는 부, 건강, 명예, 지혜 따위를 얻어내려 한다. 따라서 악마는 이러한 인간의 필요를 제공하면서 하나님이라는 우상을 계속해서 섬기도록 이들을 부추기고 있다.
Consequently man, oblivious to the evil spirit or excluding the evil spirit, begins all the meaning with himself and ends up with himself. Humans judge values by their own standards of good and evil, value themselves well, and think that their future and destiny are determined by their own independent decisions and actions. They are under the delusion that even the kingdom of God can be won as a result of their efforts worthy in their own eyes which they have won with their blood and flesh 그 결과 인간은 악한 영을 의식하지 못한 채 혹은 악한 영을 배제한 채, 모든 의미를 자기에게서 시작하여 자기 자신에게로 귀결시킨다. 인간은 자기 기준의 선악으로 가치를 판단하고 자신을 좋게 여기며 또한 독립적인 자신의 결정과 행위에 따라 자신의 미래와 운명이 결정된다고 생각한다. 그들은 자신의 혈과 육으로 쟁취한 자기 눈에 가상한 그 애씀의 결과로 심지어 하나님의 나라도 쟁취할 수 있다는 착각가운데 있다.
However, Corinthians 15:50 clearly states this : "I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable." Blood and flesh can never fill the gap between God and man. After all, this blood and flesh that man holds without giving up, and carries throughout his life, have made him a son of hell. Man has urged himself to go to hell. Thus, humans are joined to the destiny of the devil without knowing themselves. 그러나 고린도전서 15:50은 이를 분명히 밝히고 있다. “형제들아 내가 이것을 말하노니 혈과 육은 하나님 나라를 유업으로 받을 수 없고 또한 썩은 것은 썩지 아니할 것을 유업으로 받지 못하느니라” 혈과 육은 하나님과 인간 사이에 난 그 틈을 결코 메울 수 없다. 결국 인간들이 그처럼 포기하지 못한 채 움켜쥐고, 평생토록 품고 가는 이 혈과 육이 도리어 그들을 지옥백성 되게 만들었던 것이다. 그들이 그들 자신을 지옥 가도록 강권한 셈이 된 것이다. 따라서 인간은 자신도 모른 채 악마의 운명에 합세해 있는 것이다.
But unlike those who do not have the Holy Spirit, the Lord implicates his people, drawn out as a spoil of the war, to the war of the Lord by the new way and unfamiliar standard that do not work in this world. Jesus makes them know that they have been servants to the devil all their lives, confronting and rebelling against God with their claims, locked in disobedience to God and in the system of good and evil. Thus the Lord makes them know that all the good things they have done for themselves are not just believing in Jesus, but they are against Jesus and His blood. 그러나 성령이 임하지 않은 자들과는 달리, 주님은 십자가에서 이루어 내신 승리로 말미암아 그 전쟁의 전리품으로 취한 자기 백성을 이 세상에서는 통하지 않는 새로운 방식과 낯선 기준을 적용하여 주님의 전쟁에 연루시키신다. 예수님은 그들이 하나님께 대한 불순종과 선악체계 안에 갇힌 채 자기주장을 가지고 하나님을 대적하고 반발하면서 마귀에게 일평생 종노릇해왔음을 알게 하신다. 그리하여 주님은 그들이 자기 자신들을 위하여 행해왔던 모든 자기 보기에 선한 일들이 사실은 예수님을 믿지 않는 것일 뿐 아니라 그것은 예수님과 예수님의 피를 대적하고 있었던 것임을 알게 하신다.
And the Lord makes them realize how much they have been ensnared by the devil's lies while having deceived themselves and deceived others. The Lord makes them know that being in blood and flesh is sufficient reason to go to hell, and that it was the devil's lie to think of the fixed self belonging to blood and flesh as the real and saint. And the Lord causes them to confess that it is right for them to be people of hell and that God's act of throwing them into hell is so proper. At the same time, the Lord makes them know that Jesus intends to use those whom He has redeemed by His own blood as the spoils and witnesses of the Lord's already victorious war. 그리고 주님은 그들이 얼마나 악마의 거짓말에 휘둘려 스스로를 속이고 타인을 속이며 살아왔는지를 깨닫게 하신다. 주님은 그들에게 혈과 육에 속해있다는 자체가 지옥 갈 충분한 이유가 되며, 혈과 육에 속해있는 고정된 자기 자신을 진짜요 성도라고 생각한 것이 악마의 거짓말이었음을 확인시키신다. 그리고 주님은 그러한 그들은 지옥백성이 맞으며 이러한 자들을 지옥으로 던져 넣으시는 하나님의 조치는 심히 합당하심을 고백하게 하신다. 동시에 예수님께서 자기 피로 구속하신 그들을 이미 승리하신 주님의 전쟁의 전리품과 증인으로 사용하려 하신다는 사실을 그들에게 알리신다.
This is the Lord's way of involving his people in His spiritual warfare. This is not an only singular once event that occurs during the life of the saints. This is the Lord's work and the Lord's war in them over and over again, generating them daily as his people. There is no room for such a nasty, impossible and helpless man to intervene in this war. Human beings of blood and flesh only immerse themselves in blood and flesh and build up their own history. But the Lord makes them join to the victory of the Lord in such a way that the power of the Holy Spirit, a stone that has been flown out of heavenly Zion, heaven, crushes what they have built up for themselves with their own wisdom and efforts and drilling a hole in the center of it. 이것이 주님의 영적 전쟁에 자기 백성을 연루시키시는 주님의 방식이다. 이것은 성도의 일생동안에 일어나는 단회적인 사건이 아니다. 이 일은 날마다 그들을 자기 백성으로 발생시키시는 가운데 그들 속에서 행하시는 주님의 일이며 주님의 전쟁이다. 이 전쟁에는 비루하고 불가능하며 무력한 인간이 개입할 수 있는 여지는 전혀 없다. 혈과 육인 인간은 다만 혈과 육에 몰입하며 자기 역사를 꾸려나갈 뿐이다. 거기에 하늘의 시온, 천국에서 난데없이 날아 들어온 돌맹이인 성령의 위력이 자신의 지혜와 노력으로 자기를 위해 쌓아놓은 것을 부수고 그 중심에 구멍을 내시는 방식으로 주님은 그들을 주님의 승리에 합류시키시는 것이다.
In the process, the devil ironically serves to find the brothers of the saints without even realizing himself. Thus the saints defeat themselves before Jesus, praise God who kills them, and boast and testify only of the Lord's love. Their strange confessions let them confirm their being brotherhood. 그 과정에서 악마는 자기 자신도 인식하지 못한 채 성도들의 형제 찾기에 봉사하게 된다. 그리하여 그들은 자기를 예수님 앞에서 패배하게 하시고 자기를 죽이는 하나님을 찬양하며 오직 주님의 사랑만을 자랑하고 증거 하게 된다. 이들의 낯선 고백이 그들이 서로 형제됨을 확인하게 만든다. |
